The island of Tenerife is a great size for exploring by car. This is a fantastic route, taking in some of the islands wonderful sights and stunning scenery. Santa Cruz de Tenerife in the North is the site of Tenerife's oldest church, Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Concepción. From this must-see destination, head south into the heart of the island to the Parque Nacional del Teide. Lying within the fantastic national park are the Roques de Garcia, fascinating lava pinnacles that a well worth a stop. Keep heading south down to Las Galletas where you will find mighty Montana Amarilla. This volcanic mount features wonderful rock formations, forged over time by the elements. On your return journey, take the TF-1 coast road right up the East coast of the island to take in the dramatic scenery.
